WPSL GROWTH IN MIDWEST CONTINUES WITH ADDITION OF MISSOURI RUSH FOR 2026

OKLAHOMA CITY (1/15/2026) — The Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) announced Missouri Rush as the latest expansion to join the league ahead of the 2026 season. With the addition of the St. Louis-based Missouri Rush, the WPSL strengthens competition in the Heartland region as the club joins some of the league’s most established rivalries.

“Joining the Women’s Premier Soccer League is an exciting milestone for our club [and] we can’t wait to get started, compete at a high level, and represent our players, supporters, and community with pride,” Nick Teater, Missouri Rush executive director, said. “The WPSL provides an incredible environment for growth and competition, and we’re eager to embrace the challenge ahead”

Since its founding in 2012, Missouri Rush has dedicated its organization to building a complete pathway in St. Charles County that provided opportunistic growth and resources that support player development. The club stayed true to this mission, opening the Missouri Rush Sports Park in 2017, which is home to four lighted all-weather fields. The club added an indoor training facility, the Rush Performance Center, in 2023. Missouri Rush has won two national titles in the ECNL Region League since its acceptance in 2020 and was accepted into full ECNL in 2025.

For its inaugural season, Scott McCall will lead Missouri Rush in its WPSL debut. Working towards the USSF A coaching license, McCall brings a strong focus on player experience, club support, and continuous development to the Rush organization and has recently achieved the USSF Club Technical Leadership Level One. McCall is the head coach for three ECNL Regional League teams and the Missouri ODP high school girls team as well as assistant coach for the ODP Midwest Regional U14 girls team.

“We are thrilled and proud to be accepted into the WPSL,” McCall said. “At Missouri Rush we look forward to sharing our player-focused culture and offering more opportunities to our community in the female game. We hope more players are able to dream a little further beyond college and continue their development.”

Conference and division alignment will be announced at the WPSL Annual General Meeting January 30-31. The 28th WPSL season kicks off in mid-May, culminating with the WPSL Championships in July. The 2026 WPSL schedule will be announced in March.
