HISTORIC LEAGUE

The WPSL embarks on its 27th season in 2025 and retains the prestigious status as “The Longest Tenured Women’s Soccer League in North America."  Over the past decade, WPSL Membership has grown by 45 percent with an annual growth rate of 10.6 percent.

 

ROSTER OF TEAMS

An all-time record 150+ clubs are projected to participate in the upcoming 2025 season  as the WPSL continues to operate as  "The Largest Women’s Soccer League in the World."  The league features teams from coast-to-coast and currently has a presence in 34 U.S. states.  WPSL Alignment is split up into four Regions, with each Region fulfilled with four Conferences based on the geographical footprint of the WPSL.

LEAGUE ROSTERS

WPSL Rosters feature collegiate, post-collegiate, international and prep athletes.  Many of the United States most accomplished National Team Members honed their skills in the WPSL, including household names such as Alex Morgan, Megan Rapinoe, Rose Lavell, Catarina Macario, Sophia Smith, and Brandi Chastain.

LEAGUE STRUCTURE

The WPSL is privately owned with league headquarters located in Oklahoma City.  The league is managed by a six-member Executive Committee.  The WPSL front office consists of staff members in the areas of Team Services, Communications, Sales & Marketing, Officiating and Collegiate Relations. 

 

LEAGUE MODEL & INVESTMENT

The WPSL is a “Membership-based Model” as teams in good standing retain the right to participate from season-to-season.  The WPSL does not require its members to post performance bonds or commit to multi-season participation guarantees.  WPSL New Team Fees and Annual Membership Dues are widely considered to be the most economical of other North American leagues with a similar platform.

Regular Season:      8 to 12 Matches / Mid-May thru Early-July

Postseason:             July / Regionals & WPSL Championship

       - Reviewed by WPSL Exective Committee

      - WPSL President renders final decision
      - New Team Fee is fully refundable if Applicant is denied entry

       - WPSL Communications Dept. outlines formal timeline of official public announcement of entry
