WPSL INTERNATIONAL COMBINE RETURNS FOR 2026

OKLAHOMA CITY (11/5/2025) — The Women’s Premier Soccer League confirms its international combine, presented by Capelli Sport, is set for January 4-7, 2026. The annual event, launched in 2019, is again organized by league partners, Soccer Performance International (SPI) and FUTLAB PRO  WPSL side, Women’s Football Club of Charlotte will host the event at OrthoCarolina Sportsplex in Pineville, N.C.

"Recognizing the exceptional talent in women's soccer in the United States, we [again] have partnered with the WPSL and SPI to host a unique event," Sebastián Borobio, FUTLAB PRO founder and CEO, said. "Through this initiative, European clubs will travel to the U.S. to scout and recruit players for their teams.”

Madrid CFF, a women’s-only club in Spain’s top-flight Liga F, Malaga FC, with its women’s team competing in the Spanish third division, and CUS Consenza, which currently competes in Italy’s third tier, headline the pool of scouts on-site looking for importable talent. Additional foreign and domestic scouts, including from WPSL clubs, will be announced once confirmed.

The combine is structured so participants are seen by scouts in both training and match settings, including multiple training sessions led by UEFA licensed coaches and three 90-minute matches over the course of the combine. In addition to in-person scouting, Sports Reelz and SICS will provide streams and analytics of the event.

"Through our streaming partners, coaches from around the world can scout players in a highly competitive environment remotely," Andy Vera, SPI president and combine organizer, said.

The combine’s technical staff include Jacopo Leandri (Italy U-23 Women’s National Team Coach), Francesca Stancati (lead FIGC scout for Southern Italy), Angelo D’Ignazio (former Juventus and Genoa women’s coach and current FIGC goalkeeping scout), and Alicia Inarra Garcia, a former player in Spain’s top flight and coach at CF Singuertin, a regional club in Spain. During the event, Inarra Garcia will host a round table discussion to help combine participants better understand the “Realities of Playing Abroad.”

With participants expected from across North America, the combine kicks off the evening of January 4 with a pre-event meeting for players and coaches. On the evening of January 6, a dinner will be held for players and coaches at the Hilton Garden Inn in Pineville, N.C., which serves as the combine’s official hotel.
