GLOBAL SCARVES MATCHWEEK THREE TEAM OF THE WEEK: JACKSONVILLE ARMADA FC
It looked like the No. 4 Jacksonville Armada FC (1-1-0) were sunk after going down three goals in the first half at home to the No. 21 West Florida Flames. Crawling back from a 3-1 deficit twice in what may prove to be the comeback of the season, earning a hard-fought draw that could prove to be the difference maker come July.
Down 3-1 with four minutes to play, the Armada threw everything it had forward, scoring in the 86th, 89th, and 90+5th minute to earn Matchweek Three Team of the Week honors presented by Global Scarves.

“That game was the perfect example of why this sport is loved all around the world. Down four-one in the 86th minute and comeback to draw, our team never gives up. We play for more important reasons than just three points, and that kind of spirit is unbreakable,” said Armada head coach, David Gough.
The Armada entered its Matchweek Three match riding high after 3-0 road win over Seminole Ice to open the season. The tide turned quickly on the Armada against West Florida giving up three goals in the first 14 minutes of the match. Sarah Bruner gave the Armada a glimmer of hope, making the score 3-1 in the 61st minute, only to have her effort erased five minutes later.
With the match all but lost, LizAnne Fogarty cut the Flames’ lead in half with four minutes left in the second half. And with a minute left in regulation, Talitha Hines pulled Jacksonville within one. In what will surely be one of the most celebrated goals by the Armada all season, Jianna Ramires leveled the score in the final moments of stoppage time.
Jacksonville looks to right the ship when it returns to action Saturday at AGC Football.
