REGIONAL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Women’s Premier Soccer League has named Tatum Thomason (SC del Sol), Jordan Tenpas (Sioux Falls City FC), Mary Raymond (West Florida Flames), and Taylor Huff (Ambassadors Cleveland) the Regional Players of the Week for Week 8 – presented by RecoFit.

WEST REGION PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Tatum Thomason, Forward, SC del Sol

Tatum Thomason earns back-to-back regional player of the week honors after scoring seven goals in two games in Week 8 play. 


In its first match of the week, SC del Sol went down early in the opening minutes against Royals AZ. Thomason responded moments later to bring del Sol back level 1-1. Del Sol won the match 2-1 at home.


Thomason’s other six goals on the week came in Del Sol’s regular season finale. The University of Washington sophomore doubled del Sol’s lead in the 7’ before netting another three in the first half. Thomason added a second half brace with goals in the 80’ and 87’ minutes to tally six goals on the match.


Thomason ends the regular season with 14 goals scored on the season - leading both the Desert Conference and SC del Sol.

CENTRAL REGION PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Jordan Tenpas, Defender, Sioux Falls City FC

In its biggest test of its WPSL tenure, with the conference and postseason on the line, Jordan Tenpas led Sioux Falls City FC’s defense to a clean sheet against the league’s leading goal scorer and top ranked team in the country.


Tenpas led Sioux Falls to its another defensive win in its regular season finale against St. Croix Legacy.

SOUTH REGION PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Mary Raymond, Forward, West Florida Flames

A big performance for Mary Raymond in Week 8 earns her the player of the week recognition. Raymond helped the Flames to two wins on the week by outscoring its opponents 10-1 – contributing to six of the team’s 10 goals.


Raymond’s hat trick in the Flames first match of the week helped West Florida to a 4-1 over the Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions. In the Flames’ final game of the regular season, Raymond recorded a goal and two assists in the win over Fusion FC.

EAST REGION PLAYER OF THE WEEK


Taylor Huff, Forward, Ambassadors Cleveland

Ambassadors Cleveland had three big games in Week 8 that helped determine the division table, including two games on the road. Taylor Huff’s offensive contribution helped the Ambassadors to win all three games with nine goals scored and two goals allowed.


The Florida State senior contributed to each game to help the Ambassadors have a successful end of the regular season. In the 2-0 win over Beadling, Huff assisted on both goals. Against the nationally ranked (13) Columbus Eagles FC, Huff scored herself and assisted two others in the 5-1 win. Finally in the season finale, Huff scored both goals in the 2-0 win over Greater Toledo.


Huff finished the 2024 season as the Ambassadors’ leading goal scorer and tallied the teams most assists.
