WEST REGION RANKINGS - WEEK 8

Desert Conference regular season champs SC del Sol holds on to the No. 1 spot for a second week in a row, as FC Davis, Iron Rose FC and Beach Futbol Club all gain ground in this week’s rankings. The San Francisco Nighthawks saw the biggest tumble, dropping three spots to No. 6.

1. SC del SOL (9-1-0)

Desert Conference

Week 7 Rank: 1


Three Week 8 wins kept SC del Sol at the top of the West Region and the runaway Desert Conference champions. Del Sol started with a midweek 2-1 win over Royals AZ, followed with a 2-0 win versus FC Tucson, and closed out the season with a 9-0 rout at RSL Southern Arizona. 


Week 7 West Region Player of the Week, Tatum Thomason (University of Washington) leads the conference with 14 goals on the season, followed by Kristen Puels (Gonzaga University) with five. 


 

2. CALIFORNIA STORM (5-2-0)

Pac North Conference

Week 7 Rank: 2


The California Storm had a busy week, picking up a draw and two wins to hold into the No. 2 spot. The Storm opened the week in a Legacy Club Derby, playing the No. 6 San Francisco Nighthawks to a 1-1 draw on Tuesday, followed with a 2-0 win at San Ramon FC two days later. The Storm closed out the week at home with a 4-0 win over San Francisco Elite Soccer Club. 


Camryn Lancaster (Texas Christian University) leads the club with five goals on the season. 


 

3. FC DAVIS (6-2-0)

Pac North Conference

Week 7 Rank: 4


Week 8 wins at Nevada Futbol Club and Fresno Freeze bumped FC Davis up one spot in the rankings and moved it to the top of the Pac North Conference table, three points clear of three-team logjam in second place with a game to play.


Tiffany Miras (post-collegiate) leads the club with six goals on the season so far. 



 

4. IRON ROSE FC (4-5-0)

Pac North Conference 

Week 7 Rank: 8


Up four spots from last week, Iron Rose FC closed out its season with a 4-1 win at Lamorinda United on Thursday, followed by a 1-1 draw at Fresno Freeze FC on Saturday. 


Samantha Tristan (UC Davis) finished top scorer for the club with six goals, followed by Kassandra Ceja (post-collegiate) with four, and Shea Ryan (academy) with three. 


 

5. SAN DIEGO SURF (5-2-1)

So Cal Conference — Plymouth Division

Week 7 Rank: 5


The San Diego Surf capped off its regular season championship run with a 1-0 Week 8 win at San Diego Strikers. Marley Adams (academy) tallied her first goal of the season in the win to put the Surf four points clear at the top of the Plymouth Division table.  


With 22 goals on the season, the Surf are led by Ines Derrien (University of Southern California) with five goals.


 

6. SAN FRANCISCO NIGHTHAWKS (5-2-1)

Pac North Conference

Week 7 Rank: 3


A win and a draw were not enough to keep the San Francisco Nighthawks from tumbling three spots in the West Region Rankings. 


The legacy club tallied 24 goals over the course of the season. Maggie Altman (Colorado State University) led the club with five goals, followed by Raniyah Burton (Washington State University) and Sydney Cooke (post-collegiate) with four. 


 

7. FC PREMIER WOMEN (4-3-1)

So Cal Conference — Coastal Division

Week 7 Rank: 6


A 3-0 win over LA Surf Soccer Club to close out the season was not enough to keep FC Premier Women from dropping one spot to No. 7. Premier finished two points out of the top spot in the Coastal Division behind Beach Futbol Club. 


Cherrie Cox (Long Beach State University) led the club with four goals on the season, followed by Savannah Hutchins (academy) with three. 


 

8. BEACH FUTBOL CLUB (5-2-1)

So Cal Conference — Coastal Division

Week 7 Rank: Unranked


The Coastal Division regular season champions broke into the Top 10 thanks to a 5-2 win at La Surf Soccer Club. The win was the club’s third in a row. 


Tallying a division-high 21 goals in eight games, Mia Minestrella (Duke University) and Maile Hays (University of Southern California) lead the club in scoring with four goals each. 

 

9. PORTLAND THORNS FC II (4-1-1)

Northwest Conference

Week 7 Rank: 7


Idle for the past two weeks, Portland Thorns FC II looks to regain the ground it lost during its bye weeks this week in a pair of matches. 


Cally Togiai (University of Portland) leads the club with three of the club’s 18 goals. 



 

10. SPOKANE SC SHADOW (4-1-1)

Northwest Conference

Week 7 Rank: 9


A disappointing loss at Westside Metros FC Sunday dropped Spokane down one in the rankings, and into a three-way tie at the top of the table with 13 points. 


Livvy Moore (University of Oregon) leads the club and conference in goalscoring with five goals on the season, followed by Marissa Garcia (Gonzaga University) with four.
