REGIONAL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Women’s Premier Soccer League has named its honorees for the Week 7 Regional Players of the Week presented by RecoFitTatum Thomason (SC del Sol), Khyah Harper (Salvo SC), Ines Obradovac (Georgia Impact), and Jaiden Schultz (STA).

 

The recipients recorded performances that contributed to 24 goals with 15 goals scored and nine assists, upsets over nationally ranked opponents, and becoming team and conference top goalscorers.

WEST REGION PLAYER OF THE WEEK


Tatum Thomason, Forward, SC del Sol

Tatum Thomason helped SC del Sol to a big 11-0 win in Week 7 with a goal in the 35’ minute and a second-half brace. The University of Washington sophomore contributed to an additional two goals with assists, making her total game contribution three goals and two assists.


Thomason now has eight goals on the season – leading both SC del Sol and the Desert Conference going into Week 8 play.

CENTRAL REGION PLAYER OF THE WEEK


Khyah Harper, Forward, Salvo SC

Khyah Harper had a huge week with Salvo SC in its two-game Week 7 schedule. The University of Minnesota senior recorded a total of seven goals and one assist in the two games – contributed to eight of Salvo’s 12 goals scored in the week.


In the 6-0 win against Manitou on Wednesday, Harper played 70 minutes and recorded all four of her goals in the first half – including a hat trick in 26 minutes after opening the scoring in the 11’. 


In Game 2 of the week, Harper doubled Salvo’s lead in the 14’ min. then scored another two goals in the first two minutes of the second half to help Salvo defeat Rochester United FC 6-0. Harper also tallied an assist in the win.


Harper now leads the Northern Conference, and WPSL, with 15 goals on the season.

SOUTH REGION PLAYER OF THE WEEK


Ines Obradovac, Forward, Georgia Impact

Ines Obradovac is the example of a true playmaker which she has exhibited in Georgia Impact’s three wins from Week 7. The Wofford College junior scored a brace on the week and racked up five assists to contribute to seven of the Impact’s 14 goals scored.


Georgia Impact’s first match of the week was against then-nationally ranked No. 8 UFA Gunners. Down a goal, Obradovac scored the equalizer to bring Impact level 2-2 and complete the draw against one of the Top 10 teams in the nation that week.


The next two games against Chattanooga FC and FC Nashville Wolves, Obradovac added a second goal and tallied five assists.

EAST REGION PLAYER OF THE WEEK


Jaiden Schultz, Forward, STA

STA faced tough competition in Week 7 as it hosted then-nationally ranked, and Metropolitan tableleader, SUSA FC.


Going up early, Jaiden Schultz doubled STA’s lead in the 34’ minute to put it up 2-0 as the final 10 minutes of the first half neared. With SUSA collecting a goal of its own before half, Boston University incoming freshman added her second of the night and put STA back ahead with a two goal cushion in the 60’ minute. STA went on to upset SUSA FC 3-1.
