EAST REGION RANKINGS

The Top 5 of the East Region Power Rankings may see teams moving up this week, but Clarkstown Soccer Club still holds strong at No. 1 for the third consecutive week. Two teams have broken into the Top 10 this week with big wins from SUSA FC and Real Central NJ. 

 

 

1.    CLARKSTOWN SOCCER CLUB (5-0-0, 15pts)

Northeastern Conference
Week 5 Rank:  1


Clarkstown holds the top for the second straight week. Clarkstown faced a tough test on the road in Week 6 when it traveled to face Merrimack Valley Hawks FC. The league newcomer held the Northeastern giant scoreless until Kelly Brady broke the deadlock off an assist from Lillian Moncion and scored the 1-0 win. 


The Week 4 East Region Player of the Week leads Clarkstown in goals with nine on the season - just one shy of conference leader Hannah McNulty of Rhode Island.

2.    COLUMBUS EAGLES FC (4-2-0, 14pts)

Great Lakes Conference – Great River Division
Week 5 Rank:  4


The Columbus Eagles FC up two spots after it earned two shutout wins at Historic Crew Stadium on Friday and Saturday in Week 6. The Eagles first met Corktown WFC, beating the expansion 2-0 off second-half goals from Jaimason Brooker and Nikki Cox. 


The next day the Eagles hosted Beadling Soccer Club in the East Region Match of the Week and also won the match off second-half goals from Bailey Fisher and Nikki Cox – her third on the weekend.


Nikki Cox, who won the East Region Player of the Week in Week 2, leads the Eagles, and division, in goals with seven.


Next up – hosting Greater Toledo Futbol Club (1-2-5, 3pts) on Sunday, June 23 at 2:00 PM EDT

 

3.    PA CLASSICS (5-1-1, 16pts)
Mid-Atlantic Conference – Commonwealth Division
Week 5 Rank:  7


With wins home and away on the week, PA Classics sits atop the division standings with a two-point cushion and moves up four spots in regional rankings this week. The Classics beat HEX FC Tempest 5-1 at home on Tuesday to kick off Week 6 play. Goals came from Elizabeth Estrada, Hannah Adair, and Lindsey Husic.

In its second matchup of the week, the Classics traveled to Hershey FC and brought back a 3-1 win from Kristen Economopoulos and Jailene DeJesus. Adaira, Economopoulos, and Estrada all lead the Classics in goals with three apiece. 


Next up – bye week in Week 7 before three games in Week 8

 

4.    AMBASSADORS CLEVELAND (3-1-0, 10 pts)

Great Lakes Conference – Great River Division
Week 5 Rank:  6


Two wins in Week 6 help Ambassadors Cleveland jump two spots, with a win a home and away.  The Ambassadors won comfortably against Beadling Soccer Club in its first match of the week, 3-0 before facing new side Corktown WFC in a seven goal thriller that saw the Ambassadors survive 4-3.


Emma Flick leads the Ambassadors in goals with four on the season, just three back from division leader, Nikki Cox who has seven.

5.    RHODE ISLAND ROGUES (4-0-1, 12 pts)

Northeastern Conference
Week 5 Rank:  3


A Hannah McNulty hattrick helped the Rogues win 5-0 over Force FC New York at home. Danae Harper and Brook Jenkins also recorded goals in the win. 


McNulty, who was named National Player of the Week in Week 3, is proving to be an offensive powerhouse in the Northeastern Conference this season.  She now leads the conference in goals with 10 on the season.

6.    SUSA FC (5-0-0, 15pts)

Metropolitan Conference
Week 5 Rank:  unranked


After coming off a bye week in Week 5, four wins vaults SUSA FC into the Top 10 power rankings for the first time this season. SUSA FC played two games at home and the other two on the road.


SUSA FC shutout New York Athletic Club and New York Dutch Lions FC at home after outscoring the two sides 7/0. The Long Island side faced tougher tests on the road but survived with a 3-2 win over NJ Wizards SC and 2-1 over Downtown United Soccer Club.


SUSA FC remains unbeaten in five games with its three remaining games of regular season coming in Week 7

7.    READING UNITED A.C. (4-2-1, 14pts)

Mid-Atlantic Conference – Commonwealth Division
Week 5 Rank:  2


After its first loss of the season, Reading United A.C. dropped five places to No. 7 thanks to a 79’ min heartbreaking game winner from HEX FC Tempest. The loss also moves Reading two points back from table leaders, PA Classics.

Ashley Lavrich leads the team in goals with five on the season and Rebecca Kotula and Loren Gehret tying with three goals apiece.


Next up – (at) Keystone FC on Wednesday, June 19 at 7:00 PM EDT and hosting Hershey FC on Saturday June 22, 7:00 PM EDT

 

8.    PENN FUSION SA (4-2-0, 14pts)

Mid-Atlantic Conference – Colonial Division
Week 5 Rank:  5


Though Penn Fusion SA survived a tough meeting with Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals on a 90+ game winner, the win wasn’t enough to retain its position in last week’s power rankings and it falls three spots to No. 5.

Madison Shumate currently leads Penn Fusion SA with six goals on the season, tying her for the division lead with Delaware Ospreys’ Ashlee Brentlinger who also has six goals.

9.    SJEB FC (2-3-1, 9 pts)

Mid-Atlantic Conference – Colonial Division
Week 5 Rank:  10

 

A 2-1 win at home against Delaware Ospreys bumps SJEB FC up one to No. 9. The goals in the win game from Summer Reimet and Olivia McMaster. 


The must-needed win keeps SJEB FC competitive in the division table.

Next up – hosting Fever SC on Friday June 21 at 7:00 PM EDT and West-Mont United on Sunday June 23 at 7:00 PM EDT

 

10.  REAL CENTRAL NJ (3-1-3, 10pts)

Mid-Atlantic Conference – Colonial Division
Week 5 Rank:  unranked


Real Central NJ returns to the East Power Rankings since Week 4 after a big 5-1 win on the road against Fever SC. Braces from Morgan Kotch and Brooke Steel secured the win with Bella Miller also netting a goal – Miller’s third on the season.
