REGIONAL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) revealed its RecoFit Regional Players of the Week honorees for Week 4 – Camryn Lancaster (California Storm), Mia Mullenmeister (Sioux Falls City FC), Corine Gregory (Port City FC), and Kelly Brady (Clarkstown Soccer Club). This selection featured performances that saw first half hat tricks, final minute game winners that defeated league champions, and overtaking top teams in power rankings.

WEST REGION PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Camryn Lancaster, Forward, California Storm

California Storm opened its 2024 season with two games during Week 4 which included hosting two Top 10 teams in the region. In its second match of the week, Lancaster was an showcased why she’s such a threat in the Storm’s offense. The TCU senior forward recorded three of the seven goals in the 7-0 win over then-10th ranked Fresno Freeze – the hattrick coming in the first 12 minutes of the opening half. This is Lancaster’s second WPSL season and she currently leads the Storm in goals.

CENTRAL REGION PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Mia Mullenmeister, Forward, Sioux Falls City FC

In her first WPSL season, Mullenmeister had a huge performance in Week 4. The Utah State freshman forward, put Sioux Falls City up early, and swiftly, in its season opener against Rochester United FC. Mullenmeister opened scoring in the 9’ minute before adding on two additional goals in the 16’ and 26’ minutes to collect her hat trick before the 30-minute mark of the first half. Sioux Falls went on to win the match 7-0.
 

In Sioux Falls’ second road match of the week, Mullenmeister recorded another goal plus an assist to contribute to two of the three goals scored in its 3-1 win over Joy AC. After two games and four goals, Mullenmeister led the Northern Conference in goals scored.

SOUTH REGION PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Corine Gregory, Forward, Port City FC

First year side, Port City FC had a tall test to fast in its inaugural season campaign that had it travel to the reigning WPSL Champions, Charlotte Eagles for the season opener – where Port City FC fell 2-1.
 

Week 4, Port City FC played the return match against the Eagles – this time at home. The league debutants went into halftime down 1-0 but the tide had turned in the second half. Brown University, sophomore forward, Corine Gregory, scored in the opening minutes of the second half to bring Port City level with the reigning champs.  Then with 10 minutes left to play, Gregory found the game winner in the 82’ minute from a Maddy Robideau assist and completed the upset – 2-1 win, Port City.

EAST REGION PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Kelly Brady, Forward, Clarkstown Soccer Club

In its second match of 2024, Clarkstown Soccer Club hosted then-No. 1 ranked in East, and No. 4 ranked nationally, Rhode Island Rogues in the East Region Match of the Week. Kelly Brady helped Clarkstown complete the upset against its conference rivals, scoring twice in the 3-1 win. This is the Ole Miss forwards’ fourth WPSL season, third with Clarkstown.
