TULSA EXPANSION TO MAKE WPSL DEBUT THIS SUMMER

TULSA, Okla. (March 5, 2024) – The Women’s Premier Soccer League has announced Side FC 92 as the seventh expansion side for the Central Region. With the announcement, the league confirms the region will feature new sides in each of its conferences for the 2024 season.
 

“We are really excited to be joining the WPSL,” Von Brinkley, Side FC 92 technical director, said. “We look forward to the level of competition it will bring and appreciate the opportunity to further our players’ development.”
 

In 2019, Side FC 92 became the upper arm of the West Side Alliance Soccer Club (WSA), a leading competitive soccer club in Oklahoma, as part of the club’s Pathway 2 Pro program from a vision to provide WSA’s youth academy players and graduate-level players with opportunities for scouting, development, and exposure.
 

In 2021, Side FC 92 kicked off its women’s program under the same mission. Today the organization supports 2,000 players across the state.
 

For its inaugural season, Side FC 92 has been aligned with the Heartland Conference. The club will be one of two expansions for the conference and will compete against teams from Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma – including league veterans out of Oklahoma City. The Heartland will play an unbalanced schedule of 8 or 10 games with the standings’ leader claiming the conference title.
 

The league is expected to unveil the official 2024 schedule in the coming weeks.
