WPSL RELEASES SOUTH REGION'S 2023 SCHEDULE

OKLAHOMA CITY (March 16, 2023) - The Women's Premier Soccer League released the 2023 Schedule for its South Region today - a region that saw multiple levels of adjustments in its alignment compared to last season. Eight expansion sides join the region as all 32 teams prep to compete for a spot in the Regional Playoffs.

The Southeast Conference will open play for the region on May 13, with the conclusion of the regular season coming on July 8th. Three of the four conferences will name their conference champion by the result of the regular season standings, while the Sunshine Conference holds a championship game between the winners of its Coconut and Palmetto Divisions on July 8th.

RED RIVER CONFERENCE

The Red River Conference will kick off its season on May 24th as Tulsa Soccer Club travels to DKSC BADTOP. The top finisher in the regular season standings of the 5-team conference will secure itself as conference champions.


SOUTHEAST CONFERENCE

The Southeast Conference saw some of the biggest changes in the offseason as it combined with last season's Carolina Conference to form the new 9-team conference. Soda City FC and Charlotte Eagles will meet in the first matchup of the season on May 13.  The conference champion will be decided from the standings position for the regular season. 

 

SUNSHINE CONFERENCE

The Palmetto Division of the Sunshine Conference starts its 2023 campaign with a matchup between two WPSL newcomers, Seminole Ice and West Florida Flames, while the Coconut Division opens with FC Prime hosting FC Surge - both matches are set for May 21st. The two division champions will face off to see who secure the conference championship.

 

TEXAS TRIANGLE

The newly formed Texas Triangle conference features six returning teams from Houston, San Antonio, and Austin as well as two expansion sides - Austin Rise FC and Bat Country FC. The conference opens play with a double feature on May 20th between AHFC Royals hosting Bat Country FC and The Houston Aces traveling to Corinthians FC of San Antonio. Regular Season Standings will name the conference champion.
