THE WPSL ANNOUNCED THE 2023 SCHEDULE FOR CENTRAL REGION

OKLAHOMA CITY (March 15, 2023) - The Women's Premier Soccer League announced the full schedule for the 2023 season for its Central Region today. With the announcement, the region will open play on May 12 and conclude its regular season on July 9. The Central Region's alignment features 38 teams, including nine expansion sides and a returning member. WPSL Regional Playoffs will be held on July 15-16 with the Midwest Conference Champion playing host to the Central Regionals.

HEARTLAND CONFERENCE

The Heartland Conference opens play on May 17 with a matchup between WPSL newcomer Sunflower State FC and KC Courage, who returns to the league after three seasons. The conference will crown its champion based on regular-season standings with the top finisher earning the title. 
 

MIDWEST CONFERENCE

The Midwest Conference features 10 teams aligned in two divisions - Lake Michigan and National Road. The conference kicks off in June with the National Road Division opening play on the 19th as FC Pride hosts FC Dayton and the Lake Michigan Division's Midwest Select SA Muskrats traveling to FC Milwaukee Torrent on the 26th. The Midwest Conference championship will be played on July 8, as Lake Michigan Champion hosts the National Road Champion. 
 

MOUNTAIN CONFERENCE

The Mountain Conference adds two expansion sides, Flatirons Rush and Griffins FC, with one aligning in each of its two divisions. The Wasatch Division features five Utah-based teams and will kick off on May 12 as the Utah Red Devils host Griffins FC. The Rockies Division features six Colorado-based sides and will open the season on May 19 with WPSL national finalist, Colorado Rapids Women hosting the Colorado Pride. The Mountain Conference championship will be held on July 8 with a match-up between the divisional champions.
 

NORTHERN CONFERENCE

The Northern Conference has become one of the league's largest conferences with 10 teams from Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota - including its newest competition, St. Croix Soccer Club. The first match of 2023 features Joy AC and Manitou F.C. on May 20 - both returning for their second WPSL campaigns. As with the Heartland Conference, the Northern Conference champion will be decided on regular-season standings performance.
 

The South Region's schedule will be unveiled tomorrow at 1 PM CT.
