The Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) is a national, amateur women’s soccer league with 130 teams competing in 33 states and 73 metro areas for its 2023 season. Celebrating its 25th season, the WPSL has been the pinnacle platform for advancing player development in the United States since women’s soccer pioneer, Jerry Zanelli, launched the league in 1998.  As the most tenured and largest women’s soccer league in the world, WPSL team rosters feature current and former collegiate players, the nation’s top prep prospects, and international standouts. The WPSL produced more than 70 percent of the selections in the 2023 NWSL College Draft and WPSL alumnae represent 50 percent of the members of the United States Women’s National Team.

The WPSL Editorial and Digital Media teams play a critical role in promoting the league and amplifying coverage of its teams, players, partners, and more. The following positions are now accepting applications for the 2023 season:

 

  • INTERNSHIPS Applications are currently closed
    Availability: 1-3 positions available  
    Position Location: Remote
    Position Duration: Seasonal
    Position Description: Reports to Director of Communications & Creative Services
    Primary Duties: Chosen applicants will be assigned to roles pertaining to league communications or creative content and design based on their interests and experience. Each specialization contains unique duties that will be provided to the applicant during the interview stage.
    Ideal Candidates include current or recently graduated college students majoring in sports media, communications, journalism, graphic design, sports marketing, or multimedia studies.
    Wage: Hourly or College Credit
     
  • CONTRIBUTING WRITERS Applications are currently closed
    Availability: Multiple Positions Open
    Position Location: Remote
    Position Duration: Seasonal, Temporary, 3-5 months
    Position Description: Reports to Director of Communications & Creative Services
    Primary Duties: Chosen applicants will be assigned regionally to cover specific conferences/divisions for the 2023 season. Coverage includes, but is not limited to, long and short features, match reports, preseason, regular season, and postseason.
    Ideal Candidates include experienced writers in sports journalism or communication, college students with a focus on sports media, sports marketing, journalism or communications, or female applicants looking to break into the sports industry.
    Wage: Monthly Contract
     
  • SOCIAL MEDIA CORRESPONDENTS APPLY NOW
    Availability: Multiple Positions Open
    Position Location: Remote, with attendance to WPSL Matches mandatory
    Position Duration: Seasonal, Temporary, 3-5 months
    Position Description: Reports to Social Media Director
    Primary Duties: Chosen applicants will be assigned to cover specific conferences/divisions for the 2023 season. Correspondents are expected to attend WPSL matches within their assigned Region and create content (photos and video) for use on the league's social media platforms including Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and Facebook.
    Ideal Candidates will have experience creating social media content or be college students majoring in digital media sports marketing, broadcasting, communications, multimedia journalism, etc. 
    Wage: Per Game
